Little Darling aka The 1970 Dodge Charger

So back in July of 08 my husband bought a 1970 Dodge Charger to restore. This car has a lot of work that needs to be done and he intends to do it himself, with the help of my dad and brother-in-law of course (you can read more about the restoration project at his blog, mybustedrocket.blogspot.com). She has since been moved to my parents house, they have more space to allow a project like this to happen. However, while she was still at our place I got roped into also doing some car restoration, on the sewing end of things.

Trying to repair a tear in the upholstery from the back seat. Notice the pajamas, I told you I sew in pajamas with a mimosa in hand!

Justin now putting the seat back on after my handy work. I also got to help with this end of the project as well, using hog rings and pliers (don't worry if you don't know what I am talking about, I didn't either till they were in my hand). Let me tell you upholstery is HARD! I don't recommend doing it yourself.

Yet another car restoration project. Justin wanted to dye the seat belts that were a horrible green color to black. But, he also wanted to still have the tags that were on the belts themselves. After searching websites he found a place that would reprint them for you for a large sum of money. So, we decided to do it ourselves. Armed with some Pellon wonder-under, nylon, and an iron we reprinted the tags and I sewed them on. Yay, new looking seat belts complete with new tags.
