Hello Baby

Thursday Justin, his mom, and I went to my 18 week ultrasound appt. I had no idea what this appt. was for, but was excited I was going to get to see the Baby again. It turns out this is where they check the brain, heart, and spine to make sure everything is developing properly. So far everything looks good! Anyways, Justin and I were both expecting for the ultrasound pics. to look like the last one, grayish shapes, so we were quite surprised when the Baby's spine appeared on the screen. It was so neat to see detailed pics. of the brain and bones. These are just a couple of the many I have.

This is my favorite! You can see the spine and ribs and a tiny ear next to the shoulder.

The dark spots are the eyes and then you can see the tip of the nose. Jody (Justin's mom) says it looks like a bird. I like the fact that you can see where the brain is divided into the two hemispheres.

Granted this picture looks like something straight out of a Halloween book, and it somewhat frightens me, it is my baby's face. As a result of this image and a couple others we saw on the screen Justin and his mom have nicknamed the baby Skeletor.

This isn't the best picture, but I love that you can see the baby's arm by his/her face and as a result his/her elbow.

This one makes me laugh, probably because when I look at it I can picture the Baby sticking his/her hand over his/her head and saying "nee ner nee ner".
